This Privacy Policy explains how HaulSave ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and services (the "Service"). By using HaulSave, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: name, email address, and password (authentication is handled by Clerk).
  • Driver and business data: truck details, cost profile, profit goals, loads, expenses, mileage logs, check-ins, and broker contacts you input.
  • Payment information: billing details are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers; we receive only limited information (last 4 digits, card brand, expiration) for account display.
  • Usage data: log data, device type, browser, IP address, and pages visited, collected automatically when you use the Service.
  • Communications: messages you send to our support team.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service;
  • Process payments and manage your subscription;
  • Send you transactional and service-related emails;
  • Provide customer support;
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud or abuse;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We share information with trusted third parties solely to operate the Service:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Clerk — user authentication
  • Neon — database hosting
  • Vercel (or our hosting provider) — application hosting
  • UploadThing — document and image storage (BOL, POD, receipts, etc.)
  • PostHog — product analytics (anonymous usage and feature-interaction data)
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (welcome and account notifications)

These providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only to provide services to HaulSave.

4. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may impair functionality.

5. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure. No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. After account deletion, we may retain certain information for legitimate business reasons (e.g., tax records, fraud prevention).

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate information;
  • Request deletion of your account and personal information;
  • Export your data in a portable format;
  • Opt out of marketing communications.

8. California Residents (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. As noted above, we do not sell your personal information.

9. International Users

HaulSave is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
